In the Western world, audible burping / belching is considered impolite, although generally not as much as flatulence. Some people will cover the mouth with their hand in the same fashion as one used to guise a yawn. However, some cultures (for example, Bengalis) do not consider burping rude.

So, tell us, how is burping seen in your family? Is it rude? Humorous? Applauded? And do you ignore it, apologise or hide it? And if you do apologise what do you say?

What do you have in your trunk? How about in your glove compartment?

You’ve been taken into a canyon and you must shout out any one sentence you choose. Your shout and its echo will be bottled and sold throughout the country, to be heard every single time someone opens one of the bottles. What sentence will you shout?

Which do you dislike most: pop-up ads or spam email?

Yesterday we stood in line outside Best Buy in order to buy a Nintendo Wii, this behavior does not match my personality, trust me. Would you ever/have you ever done such a thing? What is your favorite game system, and what is your favorite game to play?

What is your favorite gadget?

Time to try a little bit of a limerick for good measure. We’ll see how good you all are. Limericks are five-line poems with a rhyme scheme of aabba. All you have to do is write the next line of the poem. When all five lines have been written, the next person can start another limerick. So here goes…

I am overhauling my herb bed today. I might be doing at completely the wrong time of the year but hey … it’s looking woody, dry and dead and I’d like some pots of fresh herbs to use in my cooking.

Or in our case cross words - which is what he sometimes throws at me when I get the clues as he reads them aloud. You know he’ll say “naval vessel, 11 letters starts with M.” And I’ll answer “minesweeper”. And he says “but you didn’t give me a chance to guess!” I have suggested he reads them to himself … but he says he wants my help, it’s just he’d like a guess himself first. Sheesh - talk about wanting your cake and eating it too!

So, tell us, would my habit of shouting out the daily crossword answer annoy the heck out of you too? Do you do a crossword at all? If you do, is it a family thing - or do you prefer peace and quiet to get on with it on your own? Personally, I’m ready for this evening’s 5.30 rematch, me, Simon and 1 across!!
