    It happens occasionally — and I shouldn’t ever be surprised. It’s usually something that I was told, that I believed because I trusted the speaker. I’ve never quite lost my gullibility.

    When I was in high school, my boyfriend dared me to have a bite of his father’s sweetbreads. I thought they were quite tasty and it was not until YEARS later that I discovered they weren’t actually BREAD.

    My experience was similar to Bev’s. I would make my friends cringe by eating lamb’s tongue in front of them. I would not do that today. I realized lamb’s tongue is REALLY lamb’s tongue.
