  1. maryz says:

Nope, went at the usual time.

What’s your sovereign remedy for a cold?

  2. l'empress says:

Hot tea with lemon, to start. (After that, I start treating specific symptoms.)

Okay, while we’re at it, do you have a favorite over-the-counter pain medication?

  3. Jennifer says:

American over the counter? I guess it’s Advil.

What is the farthest North you’ve ever been?

  4. maryz says:

Above the Arctic Circle at the Norway/Russia border and at Akurey Island (near Iceland)

What’s the farthest south you’ve been?

  5. Lindy says:

Since this is a group of avid book readers ;-) – What is your favorite hobby other than reading?

  6. Jennifer says:

    Taking photos

What do you do for exercise this time of year?

  7. Sunny says:

Picking up the remote and changing the channel…..

I do not put drinks (cokes, juice etc) in the fridge.
I drink them at room temperature.
    It drives my friends crazy.
Would you cringe at the thought of drinking a slightly warm-ish soda or would that be okay with you?

  8. Indigo says:

I don’t drink soda, but my husband never puts his soda in the fridge, he keeps his Diet Coke on the cupboard and drinks it room temperature.

What movie are you looking forward to seeing?

  9. I am hoping to get Husband to watch “Jack Reacher” on Netflix with me in a bit.

How do you deal with extremely passive-aggressive people?

  10. Sunny says:

LOL LOL…….A friend of almost 30 years is the absolute reigning QUEEN of passive aggressive and it has gotten worse over the last 6 years. For me…I have learned to identify her most passive aggressive moments, check mark them in my mind then to simply ignore them and carry on.
Getting angry or frustrated does no good whatsoever because she never thinks she’s done anythng wrong!

I loooove shopping at thrift stores. How about you?

  11. Jennifer says:

    No, they gross me out.

I’m going to a party tomorrow, and have been asked to make a dessert. What would you want to eat?

  12. l'empress says:

I’m inclined to say something like cookies or cupcakes, because they’re easy to serve. Personally, I’m considering an attempt at individual apple pastries; I don’t know whether they will work or not.

How do you feel about fruit for dessert, as opposed to something sugary like pie or pudding?

  13. Lindy says:

I grew up eating fruit for dessert many times as my mother was a diabetic. That said, she still baked regular desserts for the rest of us and to have on hand when friends and family would visit. She was an excellent baker. :-)

If you were an athlete selected to perform in the Olympics, what would be your sport?

  14. Bev says:

TV watching. I could outperform all of them!

Some people have asked questions about dessert. I have never made dessert part of the meal and we never have dessert if it’s just Walt and me, though we always had dessert when I was growing up. How about you? Is dessert part of your evening meal?

  15. l'empress says:

I can remember desserts like chocolate pudding or jello when I was little, but my mother stopped doing that. I think it was a combination of not needing it because we always ate something while watching television and her having less time once she began working again.

Because of my father’s job, we always had ice cream in the house. Did your family have any traditional foods that were always there?

  16. Jennifer says:

We always had ice cream, giant bags of potatoes, and peanut butter.

Do you think you live a healthier lifestyle than your parents did?

  17. l'empress says:

I know I do. I have better resources — fresh fruit and vegetables year round — and better access to knowledge. In addition, I was healthier to start with, because my mother learned from the radio and newspapers.
