Weekend Q&A

Questions Answered...This is the Weekend Q&A game and this is how you play:

The person before you has asked asked you a question. You’ll answer their question in the comments as well as ask the next person a question. The next person answers their question, and asks another, etc….. You are encouraged to participate often!

I’ll start:

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

  1. As one of the options about relationship choices on Facebook says, “It’s complicated.” We have lived here 40 years. We had a great relationship with the neighbors when we moved in, our closest neighbors moved out about 37 years ago and after that there was a big brouhaha in the neighborhood in which we were the victims. Our neighbors have had nothing to do with us since. When each of our children died, we probably got cards from every person in Davis and our neighbors didn’t even make eye contact. Our good Christian next door neighbors never even said “boo” about it.. So wee keep to our property and they all keep to theirs and the twain rarely meets, which is too bad because the thing I was most looking forward to when we moved from a big city to a small city was having a “neighborhood” to be a part of.

  2. We were talking about this at dinner tonight — half a dozen people ranging in age from about eighteen to me, well past seventy. People remember in different ways — one woman remembered something from “up high,” so that someone must have been holding her.

I have some vague memories of sitting with my parents on a Sunday night, listening to the radio. I can see the room, though I don’t know what was on (probably Jack Benny). But it had to be Sunday because it was wartime and my dad worked two jobs, six days a week.

The earliestconcrete memory I have is seeing my mother bring home my baby brother. There are plenty of details — including my distress at this new baby, whose arrival was a complete surprise to me. It was two months before my third birthday.

I like sushi. What would you order in an “Asian fusion” restaurant?
