  1. Fear can be a healthy emotion. What if I hadn’t been scared the first time my husband just said his legs wouldn’t hold him. Had I not been frightened enough to call 911 — and if their response hadn’t immediate — I would now be a widow of ten years.

    I have, in the past fifty years or so, learned to deal with everyday fears, because I refuse to be hampered by them. I also try to use fear as a good thing.
