If you need me, I’m at the movies. All. Day. Long.
My husband and I are at our 3rd annual AMC Best Picture Showcase. It’s their 4th year of running the all day movie marathon, it’s out 3rd year attending.
Today we will see:
- An Education
- The Hurt Locker (saw it already, very good)
- Up In The Air
- The Blindside
- Inglorious Basterds (saw this too, excellent!
The other five best picture nominees were shown last weekend, which we already saw (with the exception of Precious). They are:
- Avatar (it was much better than I expected)
- Up (it’s Disney, of course it was good!)
- District 9 (pretty good but I did fall asleep at the end, oops)
- A Serious Man (interesting movie from the Coen brothers)
- Precious
How many of the best picture nominees have you been to see? Will you watch the Oscars? Do you think I’m crazy for sitting through an all day movie marathon?

1- Up
I may flip in and out, but I highly doubt I’ll sit and watch the whole show. I just don’t enjoy movies/Hollywood people very much.
I did see “Up” simply because of the rave reviews.
I thought it was okay but not exactly Oscar material.
I have been wanting to see District 9.
It’s at the Red Box video thing for $1.00.
I may get around to seeing it, eventually.
Avatar? You couldn’t pay me to sit through a 3 hour movie.
The others….not much interest.

I, too, have seen “Up.” And no, I don’t think you’re crazy at all. In fact, I’m jealous. If I could, I’d be doing the same thing today!

Haven’t seen a single one of them. Sounds like a fun time, though.

I’ve seen District 9 and Avatar.
I have sat in a theater for an entire day before. It was great.
Of course that was when you could get in for 50 cents.
