How important is a room with a view? Would you pay extra for it?
(Side note: Who said they wanted to visit The House on the Rock? This is from inside of it, the view is from what I believe is the Infinity Room. )

I’m the one who was and is impressed by the House on the Rock. If that’s the spot I think it is, I didn’t go too far, because I started to feel motion sickness.
I like having a window, especially with nice things outside. (My first impression of the Cheesebox was that there is a lovely view from the kitchen sink!) But it really depends on what I’m doing. I once lost my office with window when they decided someone else should have it (it stayed empty!), and my stuff was moved to a large closet. I worked quite well in there, though I pointed out they had to install a lock on the door.
Usually not, but it depends on where I am- Las Vegas? Totally unnecessary because I’m not in the room. Tokyo? We paid extra for a once in a lifetime view.
Depends on the view but, like Jennifer, we have paid extra once for a particularly spectacular view.
I LOVE a view, but I doubt that we would pay extra for one. We’ve had some pretty crummy views from hotel rooms.
Seeing your image of House on the Rock makes me want to visit it.
Yes, we have paid for a room with a view – when we stayed in Hood River, Oregon. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Columbia River. Most of the time, however, we opt for the most economical room and get out and enjoy the view rather than look at it from our room.
