I reckon most people who write to advice columns are just trying to avoid making their own decisions. I’d get tired out giving out sound advice that would never be acted upon.
Well, I was sort of an advice columnist at one time, since I was a counselor for La Leche League. I quit when I decided I just could not handle one more question about sore nipples!
I would probably get tired of giving out advice to questions such as “he’s horrible to me but I love him. Should I stay?” ggrr. People shouldn’t ask or complain if they put themselves in that position in the first place.
I think that would be the #1 thing I’d get tired of, too–advising people to walk away from a boyfriend or girlfriend who’s been displaying obvious red flags.

I would give advice to the lovelorn but I would not be an advice columnist.
I would be a psychologist and dispense the same advice for $85 an hour.

Same as Brenda, I would get tired of the “should I leave my boyfriend?” question. If people have to ask, then the answer would have to be YES!!

I would get tired of giving people advice that like to whine but never do anything about their problems.
