Alphabet soup (minus two letters)

If you had to vow to give up two letters of the alphabet for an entire week, what letters would you give up? The rules state that you must give up both a  consonant and a vowel, and that you cannot use any word that has either of those letters in it (written or spoken) for one entire week.

(I don’t make up the rules, I just tell you what they are!)

q and u, I guess…but then how could I write “qi” on scrabble (or write most of this sentence which used so many Us

I could do any without making sure I could substitute something. I will say C — used a lot but easily replaced by S and K — and I — could be replaced by two E’s or AY.

I’m not a good game player; I have basically changed the rules because I don’t want to give up my vocabulary. I don’t text or tweet either.

  3. maryz says:

    maybe ‘q’ and ‘i’.

If I was from Bosnia I could elimate all vowels, but I am not. I will have to go with Q and X. I was going to go with P, but I could not make it though the week without “P”ing. (an hour perhaps.)
This happens when you get older.

I think I could do away with x. I don’t want to give up any vowels!!! :-)
