Jazz are my current favorites
I like Granny Smith, I like russets, and I like Delicious. It depends on what I’m making. For more about apples than you really need to know, read my old post:

My favorite used to be Johnathans – crisp, juicy, and tart. But I never see them anymore. So most any kind except Delicious – red or yellow – they seem to always be mealy and have very little flavor.
True about raw Golden Delicious, but they change when they’re cooked. They make good pies because they keep their shape when cooked. I tend to shy away from apples that are too sweet.
I used to LOVE Gravensteins, but when I was in the hospital after delivering my 2nd child, my mother brought me a bag of Gravensteins and I haven’t been able to eat them since (the #2 child just turned 45). I think my favorite now is Gala.
