Are a gimme a hug or more of a handshake sort of person?
It depends on how well I know the recipient. I’m not much for hugging strangers or casual acquaintances. Having said that, Bev and I had gotten to know each other pretty well in cyberspace before we finally met in person. No hesitation about hugging at that point.
Who? Of course, that makes a difference. As Mary said, there is no hesitation about hugging someone you’ve grown to like online. I’m saving a hug just for her.
Me, too – no doubt at a basketball game!
I don’t mind hugs except in work settings. Then hugs are just weird.
A hug in a work situation *is* a little weird. It brings to mind the Queen in Alice in Wonderland: “Curtsey while you’re thinking what to say.”
I’m pretty much a huggy person. Ten years living with Brasilians and Chileans will do that to you!
