We don’t have a budget. My husband takes care of paying the bills; I take care of spending. It’s worked for us for 45 years.

  2. Jon says:

    We are very organized.
We have a spreadsheet for everything. Our expenses are figured for at least a year ahead. We always over estimate on utilities. We don’t want any financial surprises. We just moved. We have a 15 year mortgage. We will probably have it paid off in 3 years. We pay quite a bit against the principal.

I even have a spreadsheet for my labs, blood test, cholestetol.

  3. Jennifer says:

I have no ability to make or stick to a budget. I’m just thankful it’s always worked out.

We try to stick to a strict budget since we are on a fixed income. But this month, we’ve had so many unexpected expenses, that’s gone out the window.
Hopefully, next month will be less “interesting”.

I am a blend of Jon & Jennifer, I have Excel spreadsheets for every single month (years worth), and have the budget planned out to the penny for the next five months — however I have no ability to stick to said budget so I cross my fingers and hope that it all works out come payday. So far it has. I can’t live without the spreadsheet though.

  6. Jon says:

I love spreadsheets. They are fun. I like them better than word processing.

  7. What is this word…”budget”?

  8. I knew I liked Jon for a reason. I love, love, love spreadsheets.
