The most common gift on Valentine’s Day is a box of chocolates, or a bouquet of flowers (it may not really be the most common gift of all time, but for this question we’ll assume it is). What was the most unique or special gift you’ve ever given, or received, on Valentine’s Day? Was is something handmade? Something from the heart? Please tell us!

Never had an unusual valentine. When my Valentine was active and lucid, he would buy a card and a box of chocolates. When he was no longer so mobile, he would tell my daughter, “Get something nice for Mommy. Soft centers.”
We’ve never done gifts on Valentine’s Day – maybe a card or two. It’s just not an “event” around here. I did get him three funny cards to have with his breakfast this morning.
Nothing too out of the ordinary for us. Sometimes we go away for the weekend but usually we exchange cards and go out to dinner, although we try to dine out on any night except the 14th, to avoid the crowds. I just made him a pan of brownies a few days ago. He’s happy, and raves about them every time he eats one.
The last few years, I have written a fairy tale for the family with them as characters. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to do it this year. ;(
I like that idea, Jennifer. Sadly, I have no memories of getting or giving anything unique. Mostly we just do funny cards.
