mine was a local diner, it was a chinese take out place but i always got the hamburger/strawberry milkshake special.
We did “take out” more than “eat out” and I loved the nights when we had dinner from the local Chinese restaurant.

McDonalds of course! LOL My brother and I drove our parents crazy when traveling because we would point out every Golden Arch’s we saw.
I also like Ponderosa…yummy!

Franke’s Cafeteria. They had the best mac-n-cheese … and roast beef carved with a knife … and real whipped cream on squares of jello! Yum!!

I love Big Boy restaurants. Growing up we used to go there instead of McDonalds. When I was pregnant with my 2nd baby, one of the two things I craved was their Hot Fudge Cake. There aren’t any where I live now, but there is a Shoney’s which is another Frisch’s franchisee. I also loved Ponderosa & still do. Those are the only restaurants I liked growing up, but I did love when we’d order pizza from a place named T.A.T.
When I was growing up we didn’t go to restaurants. We took picnics when we traveled until I was in my teens and Dad had a higher paying job. I remember when McDonald’s came to our area. We were so excited because we could stop there and eat in the car on the way to Grandma’s and it was cheap!
