The “Dick and Jane” series. I always enjoyed the plot simplicity. I liked Puff, the cat. He is my favorite character.

Kenneth Oppel’s “Airborn” series, or Diane Duane’s “So you want to be a Wizard” series. Madeline L’Engle reading her “A wrinkle in time” is the best audiobook though.
As a kid, I’d have to say that my favorites were the Black Stallion books.
