The first book in that odious “Left Behind” series. I didn’t burn it, but I did throw it across the room after reading about 1/3 of it!

The book I just finished, “How to Wash a Cat” by Rebecca Hale.
I was taken in by the interesting title, the lovely cover art and the premise.
But the plot was convoluted and did not follow the formula of the genre it claimed to be.
It was much too quirky, too cutesy and entirely self-indulgent.
This was obviously an ego-driven story.
The author (who is a patent attorney) seems to want to maintain her anonymity by placing pictures of her cats where you would normally look for an author’s photo.
I just hated her, hated her characters, hated her story and felt cheated by playing into her little game.
    I want my $6.99 back.

Gap Creek. Was there ever a more horrible, depressing book ever?

I usually quit halfway through a bad book, so I never get to the after part.
However, Lovely Bones was not only discarded, but banished from my house – a close second to burning.
