Yes and I did often while I was in college to save money. But now I have too many other things that take up my time so it’s easier to take it in for an oil change. .-= Buffie´s last blog ..Weekend Progress =-.
Years ago, my teen age actor son and I drove to San Francisco and had been told by my husband that we would have to stop halfway there to add a quart of oil. The two of us pulled off at a fast food stop and stood there, looking at the engine, feeling like idiots, and wondering where to put the oil.
I haven’t learned anything since then, so no, I could in no way change the oil in our car!
I can pump my own gas, though! .-= Bev´s last blog ..Unexpected Things =-.
I’m very proud to say that yes, I could. And have. My mum’s ex-next-door-neighbour was a mechanic and he made sure I could do ALL basic car maintenance.
I’ve changed replaced a head gasket, changed an oil filter, changed the oil, replaced a clutch and carburretor before. .-= Cassie´s last blog .. =-.
I know how to check the oil level and have added a quart of oil a few times but there is no way I would attempt to change the oil myself. Better left to the professionals! LOL! .-= Lindy MacDuff´s last blog ..Out for a Bit =-.

Sure. My Dad taught me the basics when I went to college with a car.

Sure, this was something we were taught to do for the ‘mechanical’ part of the test in the UK.
