I’m currently reading the novel Theodora: Actress, Empress, Whore by Stella Duffy. It’s pretty good so far, I’m only about a third of the way done.

Another book I’m reading for the BlogHer Book Club is Love at First Bark by Julie Klam. It’s about fostering dogs and I’m not quite done with it yet. After going through the latest round of puppyhood with my monster dog, I doubt I could handle fostering a dog. However, I’ve never been able to let a stray dog just be a stray …..
We all know that Bev has fostered dogs, but would you?
I read the book How to Be an American Housewife for the BlogHer Book Club (my review is here) and one of the things that we are discussing about this book is who taught us how to cook. My mom taught me how to cook her signature dishes, I never thought much of it until I noticed that they were the same dishes that my grandmother made as well. However, as an adult, my husband has taught me more about cooking than I ever imagined.
Who taught you how to cook?
If you would like my copy (paperback) of this book, I am giving it away here. As usual, the postage is on me.
The giveaway ends on Sunday, October 16, 2011, 5pm CST and the recipient will be chosen through www.random.org
I’m reading a novel by Margaret Dilloway called How to Be An American Housewife. So far it’s very good.
If you were to write a how to book, what would it be about?
I just finished reading Slow Love: How I Lost My Job, Put on My Pajamas, and Found Happiness, by Dominique Browning, for the BlogHer Book Club. To be honest, I was not the biggest fan of this book, but I could at least relate to losing a job and being made a fool of by a boyfriend (not at the same time though).
I’m not sure what I’m going to read next, but I should probably read One Day, which is a book that had to buy from the library last year after the dog took a bite out of it.

Do you read the Bible? All of it, or just a few stories?
