Due to the leak of how the book ends that was reported by the media on July 18, 2007, and because I believe that one of the entries was 100% based on that leak, I am cancelling the Harry Potter Contest.

Due to the leak of how the book ends that was reported by the media on July 18, 2007, and because I believe that one of the entries was 100% based on that leak, I am cancelling the Harry Potter Contest.

I’m sorry to have to do it, but …….. I have three other very good entries, and I’m posting them for the your reading enjoyment.

Entry #1, by HPSpec

I’ve been having a ball speculating on book 7 for just over a year now, and it is time to share the zany theories many people helped me create! The full (and ridiculously verbose) set is at www.hpspecslist.com. I suppose I only have theories on ‘how it began’ rather than how it will end – I haven’t a clue who dies – but I think I’ve got the Horcrux Hunt and Snape’s part in it nailed (yes, I’m delusional – I wasn’t a zany fan until after Book 6 was published so I haven’t been humbled yet!)

Here are are my top five favorites for your entertainment:

1. Aberforth is currently the goat making the bar smell (I cannot begin to tell you how unpopular THAT theory is! Are you still reading? JKR only said Aberforth was the barman MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS AGO…she just ’sniggered about the goat clue’ when asked about the CURRENT barman. Why don’t people think Voldemort would come after Aberforth for his memory of the prophecy? And he’d stubbornly refuse to give it?)

2. Harry will have a true member of at leasst one other house pull a founder’s relic/Horcrux from the Sorting Hat bypassing Voldemort’s protections.

3. Eileen Prince was murdered by Tom Riddle for the Ravenclaw relic and Tobias Snape had his memory modified to confess to the crime. (Dumbledore stressed how Tom did this with the other objects – I suspect the Ravenclaw relic was stolen the same way.)

4. Lily learned the truth (or at least enough to guess) from Dog Lady at St Mungo’s, another Tom Riddle victim related to the same Horcrux theft. (Is Dog Lady/Agnes the current Ravenclaw Heiress? Is she the mother of Argus Filch? And of Irma Pince? Is she the daughter of Belvina Burke nee Black? Did Snape go to Irma as his closest female relative to be raised? If all these guesses are true, this would explain Sirius’s knowledge of Snape’s pre-Hogwarts abilities – they grew up together.)

5. Snape committed himself to revenge against Voldemort for his destroyed childhood: he was a social outcast because everyone considered him to be son of a Muggle man who murdered his witch wife.

Absolutely delusional – but I’m determined to share before humiliation sets in!

 I always believed that Harry would die.  But my beliefs have changed.  
What if Harry is able to sacrifice his  magical abilities in order to kill Voldemort? Harry got the scar because of his mother’s sacrifice, so what’s to say that another sacrifice can’t be made to protect him. This way he’ll be able to live.
Obviously there is some magical connection between Harry & Voldemort  via the scar. What if  the scar is the Horcrux? He  can destroy the scar, or it’s magical abilities and thereby destroy the last remaining part of Voldemort?

It’s a little far fetched. I am not sure if I really believe it. My coworker and I came to this conclusion during one of our Harry discussions. At the time it made perfect sense. But  part of me feels like Harry  being a Horcrux is either ridiculous or too easy an answer. And part of me feels like JKR will kill Harry off.

Entry #3, by WilkeCollins (a.k.a. our very own, KJones)

Between the end of the sixth year and the beginning of the seventh year at Hogwarts, Harry has a horrible acne breakout that threatens his very existence. Ginny Weasley is horrified by the development and tries to avoid Harry at all cost. Disheartened by the death of Dumbledore and the abandonment by Ginny, Harry turns to his friends Ron and Hermione, but he finds that they, too, are struggling through the summer. Hermione, much to everyone’s surprise, got pregnant with Viktor Krum’s kid and has dropped out of Hogwarts. Ron, of course, was devastated by this news and immediately started to shoot up with heroine to ease the pain. Harry eventually fell in with Ron’s crowd and both he and Ron dropped out of school as well. He no longer had a desire to fight Voldemort. Neither did Dumbledore nor Sirius Black. Now that they were freed from their bodies, they had been vacationing on the St. Lucia in the Caribbean and had sworn an oath to never return to England.These developments severely damaged the chances of the Order of the Phoenix to defeat VoldemortIn fact, only Neville Longbottom remained committed to fighting Voldemort and his minions, but he was so bad at magic that Voldemort was assured of taking over the world and establishing his evil dominion. Enter Michael Moore. Clued into the situation involving Voldemort’s return by one of Hermione’s well-placed e-mails, uber-muggle Michael Moore decided to expose the entire enterprise for exactly what it was. He dragged his cameras to Hogwarts and strategically set up shop in the Hufflepuff dormitories and began his investigation and subsequent documentary. The documentary, entitled, My Big Fat Muggle Adventure, was entered into the Cannes Film Festival in the Spring and won the Golden Palm. Here in the States, a class action lawsuit was filed against Voldemort claiming that he negligently introduced Tom Cruise to the American public in the early ‘80s and we have all had to withstand that fiasco for so long that we should be entitled to some compensation from him. Voldemort will be in litigation for years.The moral to the story at the end: When the English screw something up, they should just call in the Americans to make it all better.

Despite a massive security operation, the final book of the Harry Potter series has been leaked online three days before its worldwide release.

Neil Blair, a lawyer for the author JK Rowling, confirmed today that some genuine material from the seventh Harry Potter book had been posted on the internet – but said that there was also much bogus content circulating.

It is the first time that material from any of the hugely successful boy wizard books has leaked onto the internet before publication. The book itself goes on sale in bookstores around the world on Friday at midnight, before when all copies are supposed to be closely guarded.

For the past two days, photographs of what are claimed to be pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows have appeared on a number of file-sharing websites.
