Definitely classic all the way. How can you possibly compared “Silent Night” and “The Santa Rhumba”? That said, I also prefer the classic versions of the classic songs. I heard Alicia Keys sing Little Drummer Boy at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting and it bore NO relation to the original. I hated it.

Classics. Listening to Mariah scream her garbage just doesn’t do it for me.

  3. A great song is a great song and while I love many of the classics, there are some newer songs that I enjoy.

What I don’t enjoy is when someone takes a classic and mercilessly murders it. I think that it’s certainly possible to put a new spin on an old song but if you can’t do something really incredible with the song, just leave it alone.

I cannot remember a good new Christmas song since Jimmy Boyd sang “I saw Momma kissing Santa Claus.” I like the Classic songs.

Classic Christmas tunes – hymns and caroles.
