I don’t think I ever have. There weren’t bars, as such, when and where I was growing up (arcane liquor laws), and by the time I was old enough and had the opportunity, I was TOO old. Sighhhhhhhhhhhh
Did you know that it used to be the law in New York City that a lady could be served at a table, but could not sit at a bar? I was 23 or 24 when I sat at a bar in an airport, waiting for a plane… Must have been nearly fifty years ago.
I *never* was in a bar at closing time.
The only time in my life I went to bars was the 10 yrs when our kids had a band. even then we didn’t stay till closing time…just till the music ended.
We closed Oktoberfest in 2009 and then proceeded to go out and close all those bars too.
