Years ago, we had one of the Whirlpool Calypso washing machines that required the ‘HE’ (high energy) soap. We put in the appropriate amount but the suds backed up out of the drain (which was in the wall) and made a mess down the exterior of the utility room wall. Fortunately, we found no damage. We no longer have that machine and went back to a regular washer that has an agitator. We still, to this day, use less detergent than what is called for.

Not all medication expiration dates are valid; that is, the product is pretty much the same regardless of date. I do throw stuff out if it smells funny or if a prescription was for a condition that is cured.
