Probably not as much as I should – at least not online. I do talk to family and friends about possible purchases. I’ve not written an online review of a product.
I’ve sent reviews to vendors. Some sent me coupons for more stuff, which I didn’t need because the original was still great.
However, I have *never* received a reply, let alone an apology, regarding a product that was less than advertised.
I read reviews before large purchases and it does affect my purchase. I have written complaints about things that were bad and in the past have received WONDERFUL response, though lately, I think corporations don’t care any more.
amazon won’t leave me alone until I write a review.
Yes, for most things I do check consumer reviews before I purchase, mainly the lower ratings, to find out what people are having a problem with. I have left a few reviews on Amazon but for the most part I figure my 2 cents does not matter in the grand scheme of things for the items I purchase.
Absolutely. They are invaluable on Zappos. And I’ve had great luck with Yelp and Trip Advisor. I try to write my own reviews as often as I can just to give back for the good advice I’ve been given.
