  1. I covered myself in a DEET based insect repellant when I visited Haiti and Dominican Republic last year.

I was more concerned about what the mosquitoes could do to me than the DEET that was on my skin for a short while.

I am quite concerned about DEET. But when I go home to my parents’ house, I’m more concerned about Lymes disease (everyone they know has had it), so I put it on.

I agree with many of the previous posters. DEET may concern me, but no DEET equals bug bites……………………….and bug bites are bad.

we have bugs as big as helicopters out here so I’m concerned with stuff that WON’T kill them.
I’d be willing to give nuclear weapons a try if they’d work.
