Fixing it

My husband’s car is going in to the shop today and this time we are taking it to the Mazda dealership. When you have your car repaired, where do you take it?

For years I took my Civic back to the dealership where I bought it, because they gave me wonderful service.

When my driving began to suffer and I didn’t think I could drive fifteen miles back and forth — I was in treatment at the time — I let my daughter take care of it for me. She finds the best local garages, believing in local over chains. But her Gentleman is still taking his car to his dealership.

I took my then-new (2006 Altima) to the dealer for the first year, then went back to our near-by Goodyear store for service. “Bill” and his guys have been taking care of our various vehicles for 25+ years, and I don’t know what we’d do without them.

John just called to my attention that I did a VERY BAD thing! Bill’s place is a FIRESTONE store!

Car-X. I’ve been to 3 dealerships and each one told me something dreadful and outrageously expensive that needed to be done. Each time, I took it to Car-X and they told me I needed something minor or nothing at all with minimal or no charge. So now when they tell me I need to replace something, I believe them.
