What color do you look for when you are buying your bananas? Slightly green? Very yellow?
It depends on who wants them and for what. I used to buy them slightly green — which would still be my choice — until my husband became more difficult. Then I would buy just one yellow one and hope he wouldn’t change his mind before it went liquid.
Because bananas are the one fruit I can’t eat.
I don’t eat them but hubby will occasionally, so I have him choose. It’s such a fine line with bananas. Usually there will be just a tiny hint of green at the stem when we buy them and we will only buy 2 or 3 at a time.
I love bananas and always buy them slightly green…I don’t much like the taste when they become fully ripe (then I use them for muffins) Bananas are the one fruit that we ALWAYS have in this house.
When the green has just gone away
They have to be yellow, okay if starting to spot a little!
I buy them a little green. My wife won’t eat them unless they are slightly green. For her there is a 8 minute window of opportunity where the banana is perfect. she won’t eat it unless it is in the “window of edibility”.
I will eat a banana no matter how ripe it is. I have wrestled numerous black bananas away from fruit flies.
