I do 90% of my reading at 2 a.m. by flashlight.
I don’t do electronic “books”.
I don’t do library books because of library cooties.
I don’t do hardbacks because they are too expensive to actually buy and they are not comfortable to read, fall asleep on top of or take with.
So the short answer is:
Paperbacks. (but not trade paperbacks)
paperbacks

mostly paperbacks. I get my books at flea markets or on Amazon for basically a penny. I pay very little for books. I return the old books for credit and get new books with the credit.

I prefer to read in bed, so a hardcover is too unwieldly. So my vote is a new paperback.
For the sake of my hands, paperbacks.

Papperback. Falling asleep with a hardback is painful.

I love the feel of a book and the smell of a book, but the older I get the less my eyes like the look of a book, and so I now have the (free) Kindle app for the iTouch and do most of my reading on that. The ease on the eyes has let me about double my reading since I got the thing.

I generally prefer paperback as they are easier to manage. However, if I have been anxiously awaiting a new release, I can’t always wait until the paperback comes out…I MUST have it NOW, even if that means spending a bit more for the hardcover edition.

I am trying to wrap my mind around Bev sniffing her kindle.
