I will worry about my kids forever, but I stopped hovering years ago. I watched my husband’s diet as long as I could, while he disagreed and ate junk when I wasn’t looking. I think he’s still managing to get candy in the nursing home.
So at this point, I am my own responsibility because no one else gets what’s going on inside here. (I’m pointed at 75, just so I can say I lived longer than my mother; it will be a competition forever.)
We pay attention to our health, but aren’t obsessive about it. We exercise – John more than I, and eat reasonably healthy food (rarely “fast food”, fried stuff, junk food, etc.). We could both stand to lose weight – me more than John.
My own, not at all.
Everybody else’s, a lot.
Somewhat concerned only because we both have some lousy family health history. Hubby is excellent at doing exercise; I am not. I am better at eating a healthy diet; he is not, but he eats what I prepare and ‘supplements’ with chocolate, Fritos, desserts from Starbucks (to go with the coffee of course), fast food, whatever appeals to him at the time it’s needed.
Pretty concerned. We focus on whole foods and try to be active.
