Bev has asked me:
You went to see “Pride and Prejudice” recently–how often do you get to the theatre?
Actually, I go quite a bit. We have season tickets to First Stage Children’s Theater, as well as we go to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater often too. In the last 12 months I’ve seen: Pride & Prejudice, Armadale, The Neverending Story, The Happy Elf, Charlotte’s Web, Miracle onĀ 34th Street, Sleeping Beauty, Giggle Giggle Quack, as well as Frank Caliendo the comedian.
How about you? How often do you go to the theatre?

not often enough, i love life theater but it’s so expensive here. the last live production i saw was Rent, many years ago.
I am with BSTS.
I rarely go because it is so ridiculously espensive.
One night at the “theater” could literally take up 1/4 of my budget for the month.
We had a series of Broadway productions here (Mamma Mia, The Producers, etc) and I did not see a single one because even the nosebleed seats STARTED at $35.
Our local theaters aren’t much better in terms of cost.
We do have one local theater which is a bit eccentric and off the wall and they have a “Pay What You Can” night but that’s usually so packed, you can’t get in the door.

I really enjoy the theater, but don’t go very often. My neighbor works for a local theater company though, so I think we’re going to end up being subscribers soon.

I’m a theatre critic, so I go a lot, sometimes 2-3 times a week. If I had to pay for tickets, not nearly as much. It’s a shame that something so good has to be so expensive.
