When was the last time you added to your cup of karma, when you did a little something nice for someone? Are concerned with your karma?

I’m not sure what you mean by karma, so I guess I’m not too concerned about it. For something nice, I took some soup and a specially knitted hat to one of our swim group who had a hip replacement last week.

I don’t worry about my karma, feeling that my balance is more toward the good than the bad. I do what I can when I can. I think it’s a state of mind, like thanking people and keeping one’s mouth shut when appropriate.

Since I’m not a Buddhist, I’m not concerned about karma. I do, however, try to follow the Golden Rule – do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

The last “good thing” I did for someone else that comes to mind is consoling my husband’s stepmother during the last 24 hours of my father-in-law’s life (last week). You have to understand, she is a very critical person and finds fault with *everyone*. (Honestly, no one is spared.) To console her in her time of need is not an easy thing to do but I did it and was sincere. And please, I am merely answering the question, not trying to toot my horn.

As I said, it’s a mindset. You define it by the Golden Rule. Some people define it as karma.

Don’t worry about tooting your horn. A good person is a good person, and we know you are.

I don’t believe in reincarnation, so I don’t believe in Karma. (As a personal rant, those who use the term karma in the sense that if you do something wrong to someone today, you will get your just badness tomorrow drive me crazy in their misunderstanding of the concept.) I do, however, believe we should be good to all living creatures, and try to do my best.
