Locked in the car

Last week I was at Whole Foods and there was a couple who had locked their keys, and their dog, inside their car. I’ve been there, many times — without the dog though.

When was the last time you locked your keys in your car? Did you have to call a locksmith?

Had to rack my brain, it’s been so long. Had to be before 1985, because I was working in a place where we occasionally had to go to alternative parking (don’t ask).

I was rattled already, and my nose began to bleed — all over my white raincoat. I got out of the car, realized what I had done, walked to the building and called my husband, who wasn’t working till the later shift that day. He was pissed, until I pointed out what calling a locksmith would mean.

You need the key to lock our car, unless you are inside. The last time the keys got locked in the car, the DOG did it, by stepping on the button that locked the door. Fortunately, I had left the window open a little bit and someone at the gas station, where I was getting gas at the time, was able to get the door opened.

I was at Bed, Bath and Beyond over a work lunch break several years ago. My husband and the locksmith showed up simultaneously – I called both to see who would show up first!
