What am I marinating and why? One of the best for beef — should you be so inclined — is Wishbone Robusto Italian salad dressing.
Thank you for that tip. I wish I’d known that last night before using the marinade I ended up making. (Mine was a dud.) Wishbone Italian is also very good on chicken breasts.
probably terriyake
My favorite marinade is the recipe my grandfather had for grilling chicken oh-so-many years ago and was passed on to my parents. The closest commercial product would be Wishbone Italian salad dressing.
Ahem.

Depends on what type of meat. Probably ponzu for a wide variety.
As others have said, it depends on the meat, but in any case, I make my own. For the pork loin I did last weekend, I used orange juice, red wine, garlic, fresh rosemary, and fresh ginger. For beef, I make one with coffee, soy sauce, some Worcestershire, red wine, garlic, etc.. Rarely make one for chicken.
The pork marinade sounds delightful!
I’ve always like citrus with pork – and I love ginger anytime.
