One of the easiest things to make in the microwave is popcorn, but I think it’s also one of the hardest things to make too. Should I add 30 seconds more to the cook time? How do I know if the last kernel has popped? What if it burns and then my house smells like burned popcorn for the next five hours????
Here’s the question, how do you determine how much time to put the popcorn in the microwave for? Do you strictly follow the instructions on the bag? Or do you trust the microwave with the “popcorn” button to time it out correctly?

I push the “Popcorn” button.
I make my husband do it.
I make the individual portions of popcorn. Directions say to cook for 3 minutes, but I cook for 3-1/2 minutes because it’s still popping at 3. There area always a few unpopped kernels, but overall, I’m happy with how it turns out.
Simple solution.
I just don’t make it.
I like popcorn as much as the next guy but it always breaks my stomach.
Ugh.
I listen to the popping.
I don’t like microwave popcorn (the stuff they add to it) so I just make it on the stovetop or use the popcorn maker.
