Have you ever had an MRI? Did it scare you to be in such a small space?

  1. Yes, I had one about three years ago. It was in one of the “open” styles, so was not bad at all.

Never had one. I honestly don’t think I would fit in a standard MRI tube.

Yes I have had one, years ago.
It was a bit claustrophobic but not as bad as I thought it would be.

I’ve had two. Same shoulder, six years apart. They tried to fix it with PT and cortisone, ice , rest.
It worked for a while. I had an MRI recently. The doctor told me that surgery was the only way now. My rotator cuff is torn, and a few other issues there. I am putting it off till July. We are moving in June.

I am not claustophobic but the last time I was getting a little antsy towards the end.
They blindfold you, put earphones on you, fix it so you cannot move your arms.
The only thing I was not asked to do was write a ransom note.
My wife would not have paid it anyway.

So many, I probably still glow from all the radiation. I only had to go head-first once, though. It was tough for me, and they had to pull me out and try it a 2nd time so I could calm down. I found it easier without the headphones on. With them on, I felt too confined and scared. The feet first ones were no issue, for some weird reason.

Like Jennifer, I’ve had a ton (fMRIs to be exact), but I did medical studies for cash in college. I was never claustrophic, in fact I found it quite cozy, and often hard to stay awake in.

I’ve had a couple due to issues with my legs. The first one, when I was a teenager, scared the hell out of me but I think that was more down to not knowing what to expect. The more I had them, the more I relaxed and they don’t bother me anymore
