My name is Jen and I live in Wisconsin. It’s as creative as I get.

I was forced to rename my blog qhen AOL dumped its blogsite and made us all switch to Blogger. It’s nothing terribly creative. I just had to find another name and that was one that wasn’t already taken. That one worked and wasn’t too far afield from my original blog name.

It’s the obvious. My co-blogger is from rural Alabama and I’m from Chicago. Sounds like the perfect Felix and Oscar setup, but somehow we’re exactly alike.

Well, my old blog was named because there were so few things left. The name for my new blog “Colorful Metaphors” came up because we’re always quoting that line from Star Trek 4.

I renamed it just a few months ago, while doing the first day’s task for the “31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge” at ProBlogger.net. It was originally going to be “Rottweilers Ate My iBook” but I could not find even one picture of puppy Freya playing with my iBook, so it turned into “Rottweilers Ate My Laptop” since my most frequent topics are Rottweilers and computers.

I have two blogs, which are mirror images of each other. The first one, “Funny the World” was taken from the name of a song that my kids’ band used to play (it’s also what is written on the grave marker for our two sons). When I put up the Blogger site (which is identical to Funny the World), I called it “Airy Persiflage,” which is from a line in “The Mikado” (“Is this the time for airy persiflage?”) I once wrote a newspaper column called “Airy Persiflage.”

I am a clint Eastwood fan. Jonathan Hemlock is a character in one of his books. He always has interesting movies. I did my Clint Eastwood blog back in early February. Now get off my lawn……unless you feel lucky. Do you feel lucky, Punk? well, do you? oops…I get carried away sometimes.
