No vacation in sight

My daughter is going to Montreal at the end of March (which she insists I NOT refer to as Canada), however I don’t have a vacation in sight at the time. Zero plans whatsoever.

Where is your next vacation to? Have you planned anything?

We’re going to the Ukraine in August.

Vacation? Me? I am looking forward to April, when the Independent Ms. Charlotte turns three. A weekend.

No definite plans at present. We’d like to make a trip to Arizona after our winter tenant vacates so we can check on the house, clean, make repairs, and enjoy a bit of time there. In the interim, we’ll be taking day trips or weekend road trips within the state or to Illinois or Kentucky. Maybe Michigan after the weather is better.

Small boat (90 passengers) trip in April: New Orleans, Mobile, Black Warrior River, Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Tennessee River, Cumberland River, ending in Nashville. Thinking about a Road Scholar trip to Costa Rica in November or December.

The tickets aren’t purchased yet, so it could still change, but it’s looking like 3 days in Paris (one at Euro Disney) and a week in Turkey over Spring Break/Easter.

I would like to go to Myrtle Beach.

Indigo, Your daughter is correct. A lot of French Canadians bristle at being called Canadians. It is very different than the rest of Canada.
The little French lady is Quebecois. Where we are now is on the border. (French/English) Westmount, which is in the middle of Montreal.
Rue Rene Levesque becomes Dorchester Avenue on the other side of the street that we are on. The Westmount area refused to change it.
There are many points of contention between the French and the English.
Still……Montreal is a wonderful but quirky city.
