It’s Saturday morning. Simon and I are off to France on Wednesday evening. I have to organise myself to shop and take along some of the things you just can’t buy in France. And then I have to pack the car on Wednesday and collect Simon from work to head straight for the car ferry.
Taking all of that into account how far along the journey to being packed should I be?

I dunno. I usually pack as Walt is loading the car. (I did pack the day before we left for France though, which I thought was amazingly organized for me!)

I make lists at this point, but don’t actually put it together until 1-2 days prior.
I generally pack pretty well and I have learned that you usually need half as many clothes and twice as much money.
When I went to Vegas this summer, I packed the night before and I was fine.

A person should be packed at least a week ahead. You should have a dry run.
pretend you are at the airport and trying to get through the security line.
Take off your shoes, Don’t pack Oregeno, Don’t have your pocket loaded with pennies, Don’t swear at security, When they ask you to throw your water away, don’t say ” That’s not water, it’s gin.” ….not good.
These are a few of my mistakes.
