I’m more of a gold necklace with a single pendant on it type of jewelry wearer. If I had a pearl pendant I would wear it, and I find that I do wear my pearl earrings more often than my diamonds. However, I don’t own, nor do I imagine wearing, a strand of pearls regularly.
Do you prefer to wear pearls or diamonds?

Pearls. I don’t wear diamonds anymore except for my wedding/engagement rings because of the whole blood diamond thing.
I don’t wear much jewelry, only my wedding band and earrings. If I had real diamonds or pearls on earrings, I’d have to wear studs, and I don’t like those. Oh well, just plebeian preferences.
The only jewelry I wear are my opal pendant from Australia and jade earrings from China. But given the choice I’d go with pearls.
Pearls are my birthstone, and I have more real pearls than real diamonds. Over the years, if I wanted the look of diamonds, I was happy with rhinestones or CZ’s.
But I wear very little jewelry now, since the darned ear piercings closed up. Diamonds on my engagement ring and on my mother’s half of my wedding band. Pearl rings — one from my parents, one from my friend Gloria. And one gold pendant — a Chai — on a gold chain, which I have been wearing for 45 years.
I love pearls but have always had terrible luck with pearl earrings and the pearls eventually falling off the posts. When I was working in an office back in the 1980s and 1990s, I frequently wore a single strand of pearls to coordinate with my office attire.
My only diamonds are in my wedding set, my mother’s engagement diamond, and her mother’s wedding ring diamonds – all very modest.
Not in quite a while. I am too old to try to get in touch with my femine side.
