If there was an unfair election and protesting in Israel or Saudi or CANADA for that matter (right next door) we'd stay the hell out of it. We were all just talking about this a few days ago, and agreed that if Team W was still in office, we'd have troops at the borders of Iran, just itching to go in. Thank God they're gone.

I don't know if I'd have the courage to do the same. I had tears in my eyes when the soccer players came out in green.
I think the election was rigged. I think they are going to have to revote, in which they'll rig it again, and then we'll have to recognize it.
As for golfwidow's response about our own elections - it's because at the end of the day, the two still fundamentally believed in the same system of democracy in the US. In Iran, it's a much different belief system that will propel them forward, depending upon the outcome.

TWICE. Yes, I want to give a damn about the world, but I'd sort of like to give higher priority to what's going on in my little corner of it.

I’m just wondering why no one here made this much of a fuss when our prior two elections before our latest one yielded such vague, obviously skewed results, that we didn’t even know who our president WAS till about a month after the polls closed … TWICE.
