I never did; my husband did. Since he’s in the nursing home and I usually sleep in a single bed or a recliner, the question is no longer relevant.
I gravitate toward a side, but not that I have to sleep there. I just prefer to be closest to the bathroom.
I mostly sleep on the same side. I started out on the side closest to the door because I was the one who got up with the kids at night. That’s changed from time to time as we moved, but has been the same for quite some time now.
when I slept in a bed, I had the left side (as you look toward the top of the bed) and, like Mary, I chose that side when we were married because in our first home it was the side closest to the door.
