Usually the second ring, which allows time for the caller ID to kick in. If I’m sitting down under 2 dogs, it may take 4 rings to get to the phone.

We try to answer it before the forth ring. We check caller ID first.

It’s only a cell phone for me and so it’s music that plays and not rings. Most times I am able to answer before the music starts the second time around.

We have specialized ring tones. If you’re one of those, before the machine picks up. If it’s the generic ring, you’re usually out of luck and need to leave a message.
It depends on who is calling. Since I only use a cell phone I can easily see who is calling. If I want to talk to them I answer quickly. If not it goes to voicemail.
