I love fresh, locally grown tomatoes on my sandwich. Mayo or Miracle Whip is fine. NO mustard (mustard gets on everything) and NO lettuce. Lettuce definitely does NOT belong. (I can’t stand the mouth feel of chewing lettuce and bread together.)
Mayo, not Miracle Whip. I don’t like avocados, and you can keep the tomato unless it’s fresh and local and actually has taste. And I am okay with Mustard, unless it’s that neon yellow French’s stuff.
I love whole wheat, dijon mustard, mayo, lettuce, pickles, onions, peppers, salt and pepper, turkey, ham, roast beef. It use to have tomato, but now I can’t eat them.

My wife had a PB and banana sandwich for breakfast.
Do they go together?
I will try anything on a sandwich….but PB and banana?….
I will eat kaka if you put lettuce, tomato and mayo on it.

I’m surprised at how many agree with me about tomato sandwiches. On white balloon bread with only Best Foods mayo and, of course, NO lettuce.
And yes, Jon, PB and banana is great…grilled, it was elvis’s favorite sandwich, I hear tell.
