It allows me to keep up with school friends, Uni friends, people I've met on holiday and worked with. That's about all I need. I do have a Twitter though not many people I know do which renders it semi-useless. Back in the day I had a Myspace, oh dear! I have GoodReads, Brazen Careerist and LinkedIn accounts which I should pay more attention to. I love reading others blogs, it's a glimpse of the world from a different perspective and if I wasn't careful I could easily blog hop all day! My blog is also another time-drain, but I enjoy it. When I was studying and when I settled into a job/work experience I would/will probably spend a couple of hours a night emailing, keeping up with some blogs and social networking pages. My boyfriend is also ANTI-social networking! I tried Foursquare but I really wasn't comfortable with people being able to see the location of my house, as well as having the GPS setting turned on on my mobile all the time (sometimes it does come in handy). While I'm totally out there on the internet (with restraint) my husband is an IT guy who thinks that social media is stupid and invades privacy. He doesn't blog, Facebook, Twitter, text message, OR email. So... there you go. I'm not sure what Orkut is. And Google Buzz? I think my husband's head would explode if I did that, he's already anti-Google and thinks gmail is the devil. Wanna come over for dinner? He's got opinions. ;) And the time suck?
