Yesterday I cleaned everything on top of my kitchen cabinets and scrubbed the tops of the cabinets too. It was long overdue. I think I like my kitchen better without all the displayed items on top of my cabinets.
When was the last time you cleaned on top of your kitchen cabinets? Do you cabinets go all the way up to the ceiling (mine don’t)? Do you like it bare up there, or is there where you display your Mason jar collection?

The only tops of anything are on the refrigerator and the freezer. Thank goodness, because this house is one big clutter — and it’s not all mine.
I have been trying for a week to get the cloth off the kitchen table. I remove something — oh, no, I’ve made a place for more junk. I think I am going to remove the cloth with the stuff still on it.
I don’t clean the tops of anything, I would disturb the generations of dust critters living there.
My cabinets don’t go all the way to the ceiling, but there’s a soffit covering up that space – thanks heavens. If it were open it would be full of stuff that I’d never move or clean. That’s why I never wanted a chest-type freezer…I’d never be able to open the top. Sure enough, the top of my upright freezer is cover with stuff I rarely use.
Everything but the refrigerator goes to the ceiling. I clean it about once a year. I did it about 2 months ago.
I clean the top of our kitchen cabinets about twice a year, the last time being this past spring. They do not go to the ceiling but are tall enough that I need to stand on the ladder to clean them. Ours are mostly bare. We have a large decorative, rust-finished star on one end and on the other end an antique scale and a decorative plate of a church (now theatre company) that was a half block from where I grew up.
