The Forgotten Garden

I’m reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I’m really enjoying it, it’s full of mystery and secrets.

What are you reading?

“The Killing Floor,” the first of the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child. I’ve found myself a new author to read!

I’m also reading “The Madonnas of Leningrad” by Debra Dean (to prepare for our trip to Russia) and “Party Animals” by Robert Hofler, which I gather is a Hollywood “tell all” book.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Still. Everyone raves about this book, but I feel like I’m trudging through it, having read 3 other books while attempting to get through this one.

Since you are having such a hard time getting through that book I put the unabridged audiobook on hold at the library. I figure that if you can’t get through it, there is no way I’ll be able to.

I don’t bother with “best sellers” or books that everyone else and Oprah thinks are moving, uplifting, intruiging or any of the other descriptons.

I refuse to trudge through a book because it is supposed to have some meaningful message.

I stick with my favorite genre, the American cozy.

I reread Christy Evans’ “Sink Trap”, bought her second book, “Lead Pipe Cinch” and also a new one called “Tressed To Kill”.
I always look for the first in a new series.

I read at 2 a.m. and I want something light and easy with a formula that I recognize.

(The murderer is always a secondary character who is mentioned briefly at the beginning and then forgotten about. Everything else is a red herring.)
