no, i never have, but i’ve always wanted to. i had a needle thing that i eventually did get over, but then i lost confidence in the red cross and never did.
I’ve tried twice, but somehow the way that my blood clots makes it stop before I can give the full amount. The second time, I had all of the nurses hovering over me, wiggling the needle around, and I still didn’t make the full amount. Filled the bag, but not the test tubes, so the blood wasn’t usable, because they couldn’t test it. What a bummer.
Many times. In fact, I just had to get a new card because I filled up the back of my card (I think that means I’ve given at least 16 times.) My dad was in a terrible car accident in 1995 and required a lot of blood during surgery. It reminded me of the importance of having blood for those that need it, so I donate regularly.
I have been a regular donor since 1984 and in 2005 discovered the double-platelet donation (takes the blood out, separates the fluids, puts the blood back but keeps the platelets–alowing for 2x the amount of goodies but with no blood loss). Since my pulmonary emboli incident, I am not able to donate… maybe never again. That makes me very sad. I have a 5 gallon pin.

i did it for the first time about a month ago (http://mywordsatrandom.blogspot.com/2007/03/saving-life.html). i’m gonna try to do it regularly (3 times a year)
Yes. A number of times. I made an appointment today to donate again.

I have. But I won’t now for religious reasons.
No. I have never weighed enough (plus I have a thing about needles and blood. ick)

Yes
I have but I’m too wimpy and feel, well sorry for the bad pun, but I feel drained afterward and can barely function so I don’t do it.

Yep, just donated a couple of weeks ago.
I used to give … 5 or 6 times … but eventually they sent me a very kind rejection letter as I passed out each time
Yes….although sometimes I’m anemic and they won’t let me
I donate blood every 2 months (or whenever it is tht they let me). It’s something that I look forward to (and they give you free donuts too)
