Tonight is my husband’s 20 year high school class reunion. What were you doing 20 years ago?

  1. 20 years ago I was re-adjusting to life without my mother who died in February 1987. I was just beginning my first, serious, dating relationship. I was preparing for my first bicycle ride across Australia. I was working for the Education Department.

I was 5 years old. I dont remember what i was doing :S

Playing with dolls, watching cartoons and making mud pies?

  3. i was 9. probably jumping on our trampoline or riding bikes with friends. 8) i completely grade 3 (as one of 6 grade 3′s in a split grade 3-4 class), started grade 4 (upper primary!!) and my parents started up their own chocolate factory after the chocolate supplier for their store was not able to complete their orders on time for them (and i started earning $2/hr to help my dad in the factory in our basement)

  4. Cassie says:

Wow, I was the mother of a newborn son 20 years ago! On July 28, 1987, Billy would have been about 2 months and 2 weeks old. He would be up almost all night and sleep almost all day. It was a big adjustment for me and my first husband, Rich! Many nights, Rich and Billy “watched” the Oliver North hearings together!

  5. Natalie says:

I’m a young one too. Probably running around the playground running away from boys and their boy cooties.

  6. Vicki says:

Wow. Only two things come to mind:

We were just finishing up Tee-ball season and we met my brother’s fiancee for the first time.

  7. Sandy M says:

I was 33 and probably doing something with my two boys who were 9 and 11.

  8. Kwizgiver says:

I was preparing for study abroad. Probably having going away parties or such. I left in early August, so… it was definitely last minute running around!

  9. melly says:

Preparing to celebrate my daughter’s first birthday (Tuesday is her 21st), living in Hawaii, pregnant with my son, married only 15 months.
As corny as it sounds…it seems like just yesterday.

  10. Julie says:

I was 18 and a recent high school graduate. I was also finishing up my first college course.

  11. Had my own business, my daughter was about to turn two, owned a co-op in Park Slope Brooklyn that I was about to lose money on when I sold it during my divorce.

I think I’m the only person ever to lose money on NYC real estate.

  12. Bev says:

Settling my father’s estate. He died in July of 1987.

  13. Stephanie says:

I was 11. We lived in a very rural area of Rhode Island. Summer vacations meant chores in the mornings and afternoons spent swimming in the pond or reading in the treehouse. It was a pretty good way to grow up.

  14. I was enjoying my last HS summer. I was between grades 11 & 12. Oh, to be 17 again!

  15. leslie says:

I was 8 and we’d just moved to Alaska. So I was most likely playing in the snow, making a fort in our front lawn, ice skating in the backyard (there was a little stream that froze over) That was a good time…

  16. I was 11.. things weren’t good at home. I was looking forward to school starting back up again in the fall. Riding my bike all day and staying out of sight all evening.

  17. I was drunk.

I was 12. I was probably running – barefoot- through the pasture climbing trees with my cousin. Neither of us could be considered “Girly Girls” back then! haha
