Unexplainable Crazy Surreal Odd Behavior

The sound goes out on our television in our family room occassionally. Over the last eight years we’ve discovered that if we turn it off, unplug it from the wall, tip it all the way forward so that the screen is parallel from the floor, then tip it back upright, and plug it in the sounds comes back. Don’t even ask how we discovered this technique, all we care about is that it works.

So, what really crazy surreal thing do you do that tops my tv sound problem? Or, at least equals the odd behavior?

Before we got a new TV, the picture would go off on ours. If it was hit in just the right spot it would come back on.

My dad had a “TV brick” that he would throw at the TV when it was not working properly. The brick was made out of Styrofoam.

We used to have a tv that would go out in the middle of a program and someone would have to get about 2 feet in front of it and stomp on the floor a few times and it’d come back on. We had another one that you’d have to turn on about a half an hour before you wanted to watch it so it could warm up.

When I was a kid we had a TV that would randomly get staticy (I don’t think that’s a word) and wouldn’t stop until someone stomped on the floor a few feet in front of it.
