The Beatles for sure. When the Monkees got on the last train to Clarksville, I was happy to see them leave. I believe the Beatles bought them a ticket to ride and that did not just happen Yesterday.

The Monkees. No contest.
They were a made-up group before Boy Bands and their antics and their TV show made them a classic. I can already hear the theme song in my head.
And Davy Jones on the Brady Bunch?

The Beatles were musical geniuses in a much more subtle way.
They were not silly and funny and crazy and kick-ass.
Beatles. So kick ass, my 5 year old was singing Yellow Submarine at 4 a.m. this morning.
