Are you liking the book? I started it and hated it. He was too full of himself!
As for what I’m reading, “Darkside” by P.T. Deutermann, which is a mystery set at the Naval Academy at Annapolis. It’s VERY good!

I’m reading Book of the Dead by Patricia Cornwell. I haven’t read her in years and the dialogue in this one really drags at times. I’m disappointed but continuing on, hoping it will improve.
Bev, I’m not that far so it’s hard to say. My alternate book is The Help.
Lindy, I use to love the Kay Scarpetta series, but Patricia changed her writing style a few years ago and now they just aren’t the same.
I agree with that. She used to be one of my favorite writers, but boy has she slipped!

I’m reading “Sew Deadly” by Elizabeth Lynn Casey,
It is proof to me that if you can follow a formula and get something down on paper, anyone can get published.
I used to really like Patricia Cornwell too, until she told the world in 2002 that she had single-handedly and definitively SOLVED the Jack the Ripper mystery, “Case Closed”.
Her whole attitude changed after that and I never picked up another one of her books.

I am reading “Swimming to Catalina” by Stuart Woods. His characters are always rich, polite and devious. his plots are convoluted but do fall into place. He writes great dialogue, his plots are fast paced.
I like John Sandford books a little better. His characters have more depth. His plots are gritty, and not very polite. Sandford’s characters drink beer out of a thermos, eat at McDonalds, drive dirty vehicles, live in places like Minneapolis, St. Louis, New York.
Wood’s characters live in Beverly Hills, Sante Fe, Palm Springs, Palm Beach, Hollywood. They eat steak, and food with foreign names. They drink Brandy and
Wine not from Napa Valley or the finger lakes.
.-= Jon´s last blog ..I think, therefore I am! Just barely =-.
I’m re-starting Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for the 3rd time. It’s supposed to be great, but I keep getting distracted.
